3 Things I Liked in Social Media, Week ending May 20. #FacebookIPO

1. Facebook IPO – ANNND, it happened. All the talk, all the hype, all the interviews and Facebook’s “coming out” day came and went…at $38 per share. It was like stock market’s version of a royal wedding. Quite exciting! Bloomberg business week quoted, “This is technology’s biggest initial public offering and history’s second-biggest IPO.” This is a great article which explains the IPO and some key factors we should be aware of now that Facebook is public. This is how Facebook HQ celebrated!

2. iPhone app for Facebook Page Managers – The fears of accidentally posting personal content on your brand Facebook Page or client’s Facebook Page are long gone. Thanks to this app, developed by Facebook! Additionally, you’ll be able to access Page Insights to keep tabs on analytics. The app is currently only available in New Zealand and hits the U.S. soon. I’m looking forward to this!

3. Video time lapse birth to 12 years old – Oh, how time flies! A parent captured video of his daughter every week until she was a pre-teen. What an inventive and heartwarming project.
