3 Things I Liked in Social Media, Week ending May 13.

1. text4baby.org – Seems fitting since Mother’s Day is this weekend. This is a great mobile tool for busy new moms and mommies-to-be! The National Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition (HMHB) launched text4baby.org in an effort to help expectant mothers and mothers of 0 – 12 month old babies stay informed. You can expect three texts per week on topics such as prenatal care, labor signs, baby’s development and more. Text messages are free, whether you have a text messaging plan or not.

2. Statigr.am – Stati-what? Statistics + Instagram…this is something I am on board with. You’ll like this, I promise! View statistics from your Instagram account, manage your photo comments in a simpler fashion and integrate your Instagram photo stream into your Facebook page. You can see how Piperlime is leveraging the photo stream integration on Facebook.

3. June #EggsnHashtags Social Media Brunch – This is a bit of a shameless plug. Every six weeks or so, my friend and I host a networking brunch for Southern California social media professionals. We opened registration for our fourth brunch this week, which will be at Susan Feniger’s STREET Restaurant on June 9. The brunch topic is Twitterchats. Hosting these brunches has allowed me to meet people doing fantastic things in social media, share learnings, challenges and best practices. If you or someone you know is working in the social media space, please consider attending!
