Getting Social on International Women’s Day #IWD

If you’ve been on Twitter or Facebook today, you may have caught on…today is International Women’s Day. This year’s theme and focus is Connecting girls, Inspiring futures.

Is there a woman you has inspired you? I am constantly inspired by different women I meet, by learning their life story, valuing work-life balance, working through challenges and living in the moment.

“Connecting” and “Inspiring” is definitely a good choice of words. My heels lift off the ground at the thought of how powerful social media is that it allows us to celebrate together. I am based in Los Angeles, yet blogging, Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest allow me to celebrate with all of you. It’s my readers, those I connect with on social media and loved ones who inspire me to be a better writer, a better social media-preneuer and a driving force of why I love doing what I do. I am a happy gal…or shall I say woman.

Cool tools! The International Women’s Day website has provided us simple ways to enhance our experience and help inform others.

  1. Thanks for the reminder! When I lived in Italy everyone celebrated it and issues of women’s societal successes and failures were openly discussed. I always wondered why it hasn’t become a bigger deal stateside.

  2. Was a great day to be online!

  3. What great ways to celebrate International Women’s Day! I love the power of social media!
