Sites I Covet
Girl’s Guide to Social Media RSS

I’ve been very happy with Pinterest, but now that you mention it, I would also like to see all of the things you’ve mentioned. The private board thing has crossed my mind before. That would be sweet.
Not sure if you’ve seen this, but I saw this post and find it helpful. http://www.momcomm.com/2012/02/how-to-see-if-your-content-is-pinned-on-pinterest/
Thanks for visiting, Jenn! Thank you for sharing the link too. Unfortunately, the “www.pinterest.com/source/NAME” makes you look at each individual pin rather than an analytics dashboard. If you have over 400 pins…yipes! I would love a full-on dashboard where I can see analytics…kind of like a Google Analytics for Pinterest. Hopefully one day.
Thank you so much for the post, it was interesting reading.
Great ideas for Pinterest. I spend hours a week over there!
Great points and, I agree, those are all qualities I’d like as well. I’m hoping that because Pinterest is still really young those will all come as the product grows and matures.
we need coffee – so much to discuss and talk about! I hope it grows and evolves and becomes everything other social media outlets aren’t!
You are a genius. I pine for that wish list of added features on pinterest (my addiction).
I hope you send this to them!!
Thanks for visiting, Heather. I hadn’t thought about sending this to them but now that you mention it….
Great points on all of this – I definitely hear you on #2 and #4. I would love to be able to segment by lists – esp. bc I follow brands, friends, etc. too!
Here’s hoping they implement some of these ideas.
Thanks for posting this Allison!
Pinterest is taking the world by storm but you are right, there are several things they should be doing and others they should be doing better.
I like the idea of lists. With so many things to pin, it’s hard to keep topics organized.
One more thing I would like to see, is an easy way (drag & drop) to edit or rearrange boards. My Food & Drinks board is insane; I love food. I would like to separate it into different boards, but the task is daunting since there are so many pins there. Along these same lines it would be nice to pin stuff in more than one place, i.e. should Valentines cookies be pinned under Holiday Ideas or Sweets?
Keep up the great work.
Thanks again,
Miriam
Thanks for stopping by, Miriam!
I am so behind! Need to learn how to use pinterest before I can come up with a wish list
No worries, Heather. Let me know if you have any questions!
I definitely want private pin boards and also character limit on pins so people aren’t posting my entire post in the description!
Great ideas Allison and I’d love to see many of those features! Have you sent them over to Pinterest? I bet they would love the feedback and hopefully these are all things that are in the works!
Hi Nancy! I haven’t sent these to Pinterest but I am seriously considering it. Thanks for reading.
I want all of this and more – could pinterest compensate for the time I spend on it – time credits please
I use Clipix.com for private boards…usually business/marketing stuff or my blog post ideas for later – things I don’t want to share.
Great list!!!
Hi Minna. I have never heard of Clipix.com Thanks for sharing!
