What is Your Pinterest Score?

Have you visited your Klout page? I am sure you’ve noticed the “elephant in the room”…Pinterest is not an option yet. I know, right?! Why is it not there? Ok, in reality these things take time. It’s not like Klout can magically offer a Pinterest button and we can all begin getting scored. There are agreements between both parties and how long that takes is unknown.

Sad faces be gone…maybe? You can get your Pinterest score via PinClout. Here’s the catch; PinClout doesn’t disclose how your score is calculated unlike Klout which gives full disclosure. If anyone from PinClout is reading this, hey…that’s just weird! Why not keep us informed?

PinClout scored me at 37 based on factors such as Total Pins, Total Repins, Total Likes, Total Followers etc. Yet, what’s the algorithm taking these stats into consideration?

My guess is that Klout will offer Pinterest as an option sometime before mid-summer. So, what’s your PinClout score?!

How to Protect Yourself in Online Banking. Thanks FDIC! (@FDICgov)

Would it be safe to assume you’re banking online? Whether it’s for personal, small business, trading and investments. In fact, over 60 million Americans are doing it. And why not?! It’s simple, efficient and easy access to statements and investment needs. The customer service is not hard to come by with online chat options too.

Even though a majority of us are banking online, how do we know if we’re being safe? Or how safe the bank’s website is? With that, I give you part four of “Be Smart, Secure and Safe. A Guide to Managing Your Online Privacy.”

Rather than providing original content as learnings for you on this one, I believe it’s best to provide you with the right tools you need to ensure you’re being safe in online banking. Please use this post as a resource to find the tools you need and pass it on to others!

The FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation) has an excellent and robust brochure on tips to maintain your privacy and security while banking online. A great read, I suggest you check it out! Click here.

It’s important to be informed of your bank’s current privacy policy so that you’re aware of how the bank is using your personal information. You can find your bank’s privacy policy below. Please let me know if your bank isn’t listed so I can add it! Thanks.

Banco Popular North America
Bank of America
Capital One
Charles Schwab
Chase
Citibank
E*Trade Savings Bank
ING Direct
John Hancock
JPMorgan Chase & Co.
SunTrust Bank
US Bank
Wells Fargo

If you’ve been a victim (and I have) of ID theft and/or fraud, you know it’s a pain to get things back in order. Thanks to the FDIC, here are resources to help prevent being a victim and ways to help fix the situation.

I Want More From Pinterest

It’s no secret that Pinterest is on fire right now! I’ll openly admit, if I need to kill time I’ll hop-on Pinterest and feed my boards some content by pinning and repinning. I can’t enough. I’m always finding new content to pin and “like.” Do you feel the same way?

At the end of the day, though, I want more out of Pinterest.

Dear Pinterest,

Here’s my wish list…

1. The ability to embed boards, whole boards, into blog posts or websites and have them automatically update when I add new content. Embedding a single pin is one thing, but I want to showcase more.
2. Allow me to create follower lists. I follow brands, friends and thought-leaders; segmenting those I follow will make it easier for me to keep track of new pins and boards.
3. Analytics. I’m talking graphs where I can see peaks, valleys and data points! I have no clue how many times a particular board has been viewed or how many times one of my pins has been repinned or “liked.” I am surprised this isn’t a feature. For brands and professional bloggers, this type of information is important in measuring performance.
4. A more robust search function. I want Pinterest search to be on a granular level. For example, searching by city, zip code and/or radius. This will help me connect to Pinners in my community. Pinterest should check out Twitter’s advanced search form.
5. Private Boards. I may be brainstorming on a personal project and/or trying to keep creative ideas under-wraps. Get with it, Pinterest! We can do private posts on our Facebook Timeline and on Google+, we may as well be able to create private boards.

I would love to hear your Pinterest wishes! Please share in the comments below.
